Navigating Life as a Dementia Caregiver

Dementia - Our Journey

Guidance to help Cope with daily Life for You and your Loved one

Why are you here?

This is a safe place to read, watch, learn, and simply find ways to cope.

My name is Connie. As a dementia caregiver since 2014, I learned to use meditation and spiritual guidance to help create a more peaceful environment for both Peter and myself. By sharing our journey, I hope you will realize that you are not alone—and that it may encourage you to face another day or find answers to questions you may have.

Please know that we are here. We care, we understand, and we empathize. It is my hope that these resources will support you as you move forward, one day at a time.

Click below on the “f” for a direct link to my Facebook blog. The next symbol links to Instagram, and the envelope allows you to send me an email. Please feel free to reach out—if sharing my journey helps you in any way, I am truly happy to help.

Living with Dementia

His greatest fear was losing his memory

We met in February 1984 and were truly blessed to share a full and adventurous life together for many years. We first noticed signs of vascular dementia in 2014, marking the beginning of a difficult and life-changing journey.

We share our story to help others understand that, while this road is not an easy one, it is possible to survive and find strength along the way. Together, all things are possible.

Our story took on a new form on July 31, 2023, when my partner of 40 years passed into a realm free of pain and memory loss. He continues this journey with me in spirit, as I now focus on helping other caregivers cope with and navigate all stages of this disease.

Dementia

How do you cope?

I won’t pretend that this journey is easy. But with a few small changes, you too can find ways to survive each day. No one is perfect. We all have moments when we fall apart—when we yell, cry, or feel overwhelmed by fear. What matters most is learning to forgive ourselves and begin again. When we do that, the hardest battle is already won.

Please explore the social media links above: our Facebook group and blog, Instagram photos and videos, or click the link below to watch our YouTube videos. If you find them helpful, like and share so others can discover these resources too.

Stay tuned for my upcoming book, which shares how we navigated this life with dementia.
